Why do we listen to music? How do we listen differently to familiar and unfamiliar music, recordings and live performance, music and the sounds of nature? And what can we learn from these different types of listening? The Uncommon Music Festival presents a workshop on these questions in partnership with the Sitka Fine Arts Camp. Author, educator, and longtime Sitka resident Carolyn Servid will be our honored guest and collaborator for this event, which features our 2018 commission "The Edge of a Season," on her poem of the same name.
